Ah… the intranet. Bastion of bureaucracy. Palace of paperwork. Phalanx of forms.

This goal of this project was to transform the dreaded intranet into something friendly, fun, and above all, useful.

ASP.Net and C# enable a super-simple bulletin board (think breakroom corkboard, not phpBB) that keeps the home page alive with fresh information from all corners of the building. Forecast data is pulled in via Weather.com, getting rid of requests for the IT department’s hated nemesis—WeatherBug.

Departments have ownership their own tabs, which they can quickly and easily edit using Macromedia Contribute.

Finally, some custom code collects announcements that need to appear on the Association’s public-facing home page. Web Administrators have the power to edit, approve, and reorder the messages as need be.
